POS Cart Attributes — Shopify Point of Sale cart & line-item attributes

Capture custom cart-level and line-item attributes at the Point of Sale — no backend required.

What it does

  • Cart attributes — add order-level key/value pairs from a smart-grid tile (e.g. order reference, customer type).
  • Line-item attributes — add per-product key/value pairs from the cart line-item menu (e.g. warranty ID, custom notes).

Both flows use admin-managed key lists (Shop metafields) so every register shows the same options. Staff pick a key, enter a value, and save.

Quick start

Section titled “Quick start”
  1. Install POS Cart Attributes from the Shopify App Store and select an App Pricing plan when prompted.
  2. Enable it under Point of Sale → Settings → POS apps.
  3. Create Shop metafields pos_cart_attr.keys and pos_cart_attr.item_keys — see Setup.
  4. Add the Cart Attribute tile to your POS smart grid.
  5. Train staff using the Staff guide — step-by-step POS screenshots.
